This session thinks through the role of art education in a contemporary art museum, beyond formal academic institutions. How informality of encounters in a museum, with artists as mediators and bridges helps in embedding communities, groups and individuals into the museum as a space of collective growth and learning?

Sharing examples and case studies from long term programs and partnerships that Akansha has been leading at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, in this workshop she along with participants will explore ways of identifying and holding onto moments of fragile exchanges, carry-overs, spills and reciprocity amidst the publicness and grand narratives of museum discourse.
