Beyond the Image: Oltre Il Confine

Le Immagine di Mimmo e Francesco Jodice

A film by Matteo Parsini, 2025, 73’

A Ladoc Production

Mimmo Jodice, one of the great masters of Italian photography, was a tireless pioneer since the 1960s leading Italian photography to establish itself on the international stage. In this film, Mimmo and his son Francesco share their perspectives on life, art, and the mystery of a time undergoing profound transformation. Sometimes, a profession flows from father to son like an ancient river. But rarely do both banks shine with the same light. Francesco turns his gaze to the contemporary social landscape and its metamorphoses, intertwining art and urban anthropology in a poetics capable of restoring to humanity the reflection of its cities. Like two travelers from distant millennia, they set sail, relying only on the thin line of the horizon, a journey where the essence is movement, and the gaze becomes a compass to navigate our changing world.
