Bartolomeo Pietromarchi
Italian art critic, curator, and museum director
Bartolomeo Pietromarchi is an Italian art critic, curator, and museum director. Pietromarchi was the director of the contemporary art programme at Fondazione Adriano Olivetti from 1997 to 2007.
He served as curator at HangarBicocca in Milan and later at MAXXI in Rome, where he oversaw key projects including the Premio Italia Arte Contemporanea. In August 2011 he was appointed Director of MACRO – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Roma and in 2016, he became Director of MAXXI (2016-2023), entrusted with defining new artistic programs and curatorial directions. He is currently independently curating several museum quality exhibitions.
