Gianfranco Chiavacci: Zerozerounozero

Andrea Ingenito Contemporary Art
February 13 – March 28
Via Capella Vecchia 8\a

Gianfranco Chiavacci (Pistoia, 1936–2011) was one of the most rigorous figures in Italian artistic experimentation in the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition critically retraces his career through a selection of significant works that convey the methodological coherence and theoretical depth of his research. Self-taught and distant from any form of expressionism, Chiavacci developed a practice based on the construction of regulated visual systems over more than fifty years, in which the image is never a representation but the result of a logical and operational process.

The title ZEROZEROUNOZERO symbolically refers to the binary code, logic, and systematic structure that form the core of the artist’s practice, emphasizing its conceptual and experimental dimension. Chiavacci’s research also falls within the field of photography, positioning him as a pioneer of photography as an absolute language. His photographs have been exhibited at major international fairs.

A Gentle Collapse: I don’t much care where so long as I get somewhere

Andrea Nuovo Home Gallery
February 21 – March 18
Gallery open Thursday to Friday 10:30 – 13:00 / 16:30 – 19:00
Via Monte di Dio 61

A Gentle Collapse is the moment when familiar structures gracefully crumble. A non-violent, almost elegant collapse that opens up new possibilities of meaning. The works inhabit this threshold: between control and loss, between logic and dream, between what we recognize and what destabilizes us. The reference to Alice in Wonderland is not stated in the title, but it runs through the entire project like an undercurrent: an invitation to lose oneself without panic, to accept inconsistency as part of the journey, to keep moving even when the direction is unclear.

Spot Home Gallery presents Kourtney Roy’s first solo exhibition in Italy, Failed Postcards from Napoli, a series developed during a 2025 artist residency in Naples produced by the gallery. Grappling with a city trapped in its own imagery and clichés, Roy uses staged self-portraiture to construct ambiguous situations in marginal, in-between spaces far from postcard views, inhabiting a constellation of eccentric female characters shaped by cinema, popular culture, literature, and her daily observation of the city. Suspended between irony and disquiet, the photographs blur fiction and reality, prompting a reflection on identity, desire, and the representation of women by subtly subverting established stereotypes.
