Maurizio Morra Greco

President Fondazione Morra Greco

Maurizio Morra Greco, a Neapolitan dentist with a passion for art, began collecting works at the age of fourteen, ranging from the 17th to the early 20th century before focusing entirely on contemporary art. His collection, now comprising over a thousand works by approximately two hundred artists, is distinguished by an eclectic approach and international vision, making it one of the most significant collections in Europe.

In 2003, this dedication led to the establishment of the Fondazione Morra Greco, housed in the historic Palazzo Caracciolo di Avellino in Naples. Since 2006, the facility has hosted a dynamic program of exhibitions, residencies, and multidisciplinary activities, offering a space for research and production for both emerging talents and established artists. The Foundation's management team is responsible for coordinating these creative journeys, ensuring the integration of educational training with the international debate on the role of museums.

Maurizio Morra Greco's commitment has been widely recognized by the industry: in addition to serving as vice president of the Committee of Italian Contemporary Art Foundations and sitting on Art Basel's Global Patrons Council, he has been awarded best collector and patron for his ongoing support of young people and social issues.
